Why Use Bird Repellents Pest birds are a nuisance for property managers, property owners, architects and homeowners.
They can cause product damage, contamination and loss to food. Birds cause Health risks and safety hazard due to lung/chest related problems and food poisoning. Bird droppings deface buildings and cause bad smell. They also accelerate erosion in case they fall on motor windings in factory installations. Dead birds and nests attract flies, bugs, mites, beetles, worms etc. Bird nests also pose substantial hazard to OHE installations. Droppings cause foul smell and spread diseases such as respiratory infections even to humans. Droppings being acidic in nature spoil the ground surface and even attack metallic surface of machines causing considerable irreversible loss. Larger species of birds like crows, kites develop nests near human habitats on Railway installations such as Overhead structures / equipments. They use wires, cloth pieces as nesting materials which may hang down from the structures and often come in contact with live high tension wires carrying voltages as high as 25 KV AC. This leads to short circuits.
Various solutions have been tried in the past to prevent birds from nesting on critical establishments. These included metallic tin containers to create sound. Unfortunately birds realize that these are not effective deterrents and render these solutions hopeless.
